The Sport Shock is an emulsion shock for road riders who want a quality replacement shock for road, commuting or touring use.
It is a complete Penske Shock, minus the reservoir. It retains the normal spring preload, rebound, and ride height adjustment. It is also upgradeable to an 8981 or an 8987 at any time in the future, and you don't need to buy a complete replacement shock, simply a hose and reservoir. This is the ideal shock for ‘rapid progression’ on the road, touring, ride-day and club racing – a simple, clean and effective design, and an excellent introduction to the world of performance handling. Each click on the adjuster gives a noticeable change in feel, making it very easy to find the setting that works best for you, and you will waste less time dialing in.
Penske 8987 :
Often dubbed the choice of professional racers; yet it is also the shock for the ‘handling’ enthusiast – providing a rapid ‘practical’ into what exactly constitutes ‘high’ or ‘low’ speed compression damping; popular in racing, yet still highly useable on the road. The original patented reservoir design offers the most sensitive frequency response, and a massive spectrum of adjustability, without ‘locking’ the oil-flow metering potential.
