OEM Re-valve :
Parts are checked for flaws, and all areas and surfaces are addressed, in order that when superior oil ISO, new valving combinations, and perhaps even altered pistons are installed afresh, everything should work together to produce the desired result. There is much that can be optimized within a stock fork, and the steps and measures differ from model to model…
Fork Valving Kits :
Essentially a step above OEM re-valving, the former can take the handling to very satisfactory levels (except for some certain OEM designs – which by default require parts). The aftermarket brands/kits/materials chosen at Zenodamper’s are selected because they offer possible tuning steps that are either not plausible or not cost-efficient with the OEM parts still present. Naturally this is the ‘middle step’ up the front-end tuning ladder.
Cartridge Kits :
Aside from modifying your stock cartridge to perform better than originally intended, an aftermarket cartridge kit is the last step prior to changing the fork completely. Kits are available in either 20mm or 25mm, and the selection of one over the other will depend on the intended application.
Cartridge Emulators :
These are very effective within TRX850s, Hornet 600s, early CBRs and other damper rod forks.
Racetech’s valve body sits below the main spring, and on top your original damper rod (new spacer will need cutting); with the drilling of the OEM rod, all the damping for the compression stroke is provided by this added part – and it is utterly adjustable!!! They will allow an experience previously unknown to bikes with this old system. Fork dive is tuneable; harshness is eliminated and in 99% of cases will see a huge grin arrive on the owner’s face… These are a serious alternative to replacing the entire front end, and much cheaper.
